About Us

Hoʻōla Maui was a hui of Native Hawaiian Organizations* (NHOs), as defined in CFR 124.3, that were committed to ensuring the safe, timely, and thorough clean up and repair of the parts of Maui devastated by the August wildfires.

In the face of devastation, we had the opportunity and responsibility to transcend competition and strengthen our connections and commitments to each other and to the community in order to build back in a better way.

Hoʻōla Maui NHO partners all pledged to work together, share resources and expertise, and coordinate and collaborate regardless of which individual companies were awarded contracts for each phase of the recovery effort in order to prioritize the people of Maui. In January 2024, we successfully completed our contract with USACE and fulfilled this pledge. Mahalo nui to all Hoʻōla Maui members, as well as our partner organizations who provided invaluable contributions and support.
